L’Italia è un Paese pieno di contraddizioni: a volte accogliente e colto, altre disordinato e indisciplinato. Non è facile definire chi siamo noi italiani, né cosa vogliamo. Siamo un Paese con tante anime diverse e altrettanti dialetti. Siamo un popolo variegato, con storie e tradizioni differenti, raramente uniti se non davanti a una partita di pallone.

Ma forse il bello dell’Italia e degli italiani è proprio questo: l’essere sempre un po’ imprevedibili e difficili da catalogare. Accoglienti come una una tiepida coperta in un pomeriggio invernale o freddi come i venti che sferzano le nostre coste. Sappiamo passare dall’abbraccio caloroso all’indifferenza in un battito di ciglia. Il nostro comportamento è di solito la risposta a quello altrui.

Il nostro territorio non è grande, ma ricco di tutto ciò che Madre Natura può offrire… mari, montagne, pianure, laghi e colline si alternano in paesaggi mozzafiato. Una terra disseminata di storia ed arte, un ricamo fatto di templi antichi, palazzi storici ed affreschi.

Noi italiani sappiamo essere molto critici con il nostro Paese e con noi stessi. Talvolta rivaleggiamo tra di noi, ma non consentiamo a nessuno di parlare male di un nostro conterraneo.

Siamo orgogliosi della nostra identità, consapevoli delle molteplici differenze che ci rendono un popolo unico. Unico come il nostro complicato e lungo passato, unico come le opere d’arte e gli artisti che hanno fatto la nostra storia, unico come la nostra cucina che è considerata in assoluto una delle migliori al mondo.

Crediamo fermamente che studiare una lingua non debba ridursi allo studio della sua grammatica. Studiare una lingua dovrebbe significare anche vivere una cultura, conoscerne gli aspetti più comuni ma anche quelli più originali. Noi siamo qui per questo. Vogliamo offrirvi un viaggio nel Pianeta Italia: lingua, cucina, arte, storia, leggende e tradizioni. Questo il nostro progetto. Questa la nostra ambizione.

Cristiana was recommended to me by a friend who had been using her as a tutor. I am in a unique position that having grown up as a first generation Italian-American, dual citizen, my comprehension and reading ability is far better than my ability to speak Italian. I started studying Italian with Cristiana after a 25-year break from learning the language.
